Chapter 4 Dad Kept an Omega Outside
"Henry, why do you have the scent of an Omega on you?"
And it''s a rose scent.
Victor was already sitting next to Henry. Seeing Henry''s slightly flushed cheeks, a thought popped into his mind—could this guy be an Omega pretending to be a Beta?
To confirm his suspicion, he reached out to touch Henry''s neck.
An Omega''s glands only appear at the back of the neck during their heat. If there were glands, it would confirm his suspicion.
"Don''t touch me."
Before Victor''s hand could reach Henry, he was stopped by Henry''s cold voice.
Victor, feeling snubbed, turned his head away arrogantly and retorted, "Who wants to touch you? You have the scent of an Omega on you. Don''t you think you should explain that?"
Henry took a deep breath, his fists clenched tightly out of Victor''s sight, with his nails digging into his flesh.
He tried to clear his head and responded to Victor, "Why can''t I have the scent of an Omega?" "You...!"
Victor was left speechless again.
It was as if Henry was keeping a rose-scented Omega outside.
Victor didn''t understand why he was so angry. Maybe he was feeling indignant on behalf of his dad.
His dad had just left not long ago, and Henry was already impatiently looking for an Omega outside. He found Henry increasingly unpleasant, thinking he was just after The Smith Family''s money. His dad had just left, and Henry was already so eager.
He had just thought Henry was a decent person.
When they got home, Derek immediately noticed the faint rose scent in the air. Feeling uneasy, he approached Henry, "Sir."
"Mm." Henry responded lightly, his face extremely calm, as if nothing had happened.
Derek, being quick-witted, immediately said, "Sir, there''s a contract in the room that needs your signature urgently."
"Okay."
Victor, left with a look of disdain, snorted and went to his room to write the thousand-word reflection.
Once Henry was in the room, Derek closed the door and quickly took out a suppressant from the drawer, handing it to Henry.
Worried, he said, "Sir, I told you this matter couldn''t be delayed."
Henry quickly injected the suppressant into his arm, exhaling heavily. After a moment of calm, he said, "I didn''t expect it to be this serious. I almost got found out by Victor."
Not wanting to continue the topic, he changed the subject, "How''s the negotiation with the advertising company going?"
Derek replied, "It was all set, but then they were poached by Era Group."
Henry had anticipated this. He had offended Connor today, and he knew Connor would make things difficult for him in business.
"Then find another one," Henry said.
He rubbed his temples, looking a bit tired. Due to the recent heat, his bangs were slightly damp, and he casually brushed them aside.
He walked to his desk and opened his laptop.
This advertising company had been carefully selected. It had been around for a long time and had some strength, making it a good partner. But unfortunately...
After the laptop booted up, he quickly opened a file.
Leaning against the desk with one leg, he held the laptop and read it carefully, looking somewhat relaxed but also seriously focused.
"Look at this..."
"Henry!"
Henry had just turned to speak with Derek when he was interrupted by Victor''s sudden voice.
The door was rudely pushed open.
Henry quickly and discreetly hid the empty suppressant vial he had casually left on the table behind his back. "What''s the matter?"
He looked at Victor with a somewhat indifferent expression.
Victor, however, was furious and pointed at him, saying, "I don''t care what you do outside, but don''t bring that Omega into our home and ruin our family''s reputation."
Victor had been in his room writing his reflection, but his mind was filled with the image of Henry bringing an unknown Omega home.
What if that Omega had a child with Henry and started eyeing The Smith Family''s inheritance?
Everything in The Smith Family would be gone, all ending up in the pockets of an outsider.
The more Victor thought about it, the more he felt it was wrong. He hadn''t written a single word of his reflection and had directly kicked open Henry''s door to confront him.
Henry raised an eyebrow at this.
Derek, on the other hand, was completely confused. When had his master ever kept an Omega outside?
Victor, still angry, said, "Did you hear me?"
"No problem," Henry replied.
"You better keep your word, or else."
After issuing his threat, Victor turned and left Henry''s room.
He didn''t like Henry, and by extension, he didn''t like anything related to Henry.
He didn''t want to stay in Henry''s room for even a second longer.
After Victor left, Derek asked incredulously, "Sir, you kept an Omega?"
But wasn''t Henry an Omega himself?
"No, Victor mistook my pheromones for another Omega''s," Henry explained with a faint smile, finding the situation somewhat amusing.
"I see. What were you about to say?" Henry handed the laptop back to Derek, showing a file that displayed the three-year profit data of various advertising companies.
He said, "Besides the company that was poached by Era Group, this company still has some potential and can be considered."
Derek looked at the company''s name with some hesitation and said, "Sir, this company was just established not long ago and hasn''t had any major deals. Is it wise to entrust something so important to them?"
"The current situation requires us to take a gamble. Compared to these listed companies, ''Fortune Group'' indeed lacks strength, but they''ve developed quite well in the past two years. Moreover, we would be their first major client, and it''s a collaboration with ACT. I doubt they would neglect us."
Derek hesitated, "But what if Era Group intervenes again..."
Henry decisively said, "They won''t. Connor wouldn''t dare gamble with Era Group''s future."
After saying this, he patted Derek on the shoulder and added, "Find someone to negotiate the deal tomorrow."
"Yes, sir."
Meanwhile, in his room, Victor was struggling with his reflection. Frustrated, he tore the paper from his notebook, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it on the floor.
He ruffled his hair in frustration, "How do you even write a reflection? Dear teachers and classmates... My name is Victor, and I shouldn''t have hit a student..."
But he wasn''t wrong; George had bullied him first!
Wait... he suddenly had an idea.
A flash of inspiration hit Victor, and he picked up his pen again, this time writing furiously...
